Established in 1965, Chemicals LAIF has been working in the zootechnical field for more than 40 years. The first production was dedicated to disinfectants, detergents animal nutrition and feed premixes. Today Chemicals LAIF is a renowned international reference for its specialties for honey bee health and nutritional products.
The company is located in Vigonza (Padova) in the north-east of Italy.
1980: we initiated development of the beekeeping sector with research, production and marketing of honey bees health products. Development of APILIFE VAR, the first medicine based on essential oils, allowed in organic beekeeping for the treatment and control of Varroa to be authorized worldwide. Used at the moment in around 30 countries with notable success.
2011: development and registration of API-BIOXAL powder, veterinary medicine for the treatment of varroatosis, the first medicinal product authorized in Italy based on oxalic acid.
2014: birth of the ALVEIS division, solely dedicated to beekeeping and the exclusive commitment to the Beekeeping sector of ALVEIS’s focus.
2017: birth of APIFOR, Varroa treatment based on liquid formic acid 60%.
2018: birth of API-BIOXAL solution, new improved pharmaceutical form with glycerol based on oxalic acid, ready to use against Varroa.
